About Nodal

A sharper view of connected economies.

Nodal Economics is an emerging independent research and advisory practice focused on local economies, East Asia, development and coordination economics.

Purpose

Deeper insights. Brighter possibilities.

The most important economic questions rarely sit inside one neat boundary. Local performance reflects national policy, global markets, institutional capability and the way decisions connect.

Nodal exists to study those connections and make them useful. Its purpose is to produce original work that is analytically credible, honest about its limits and clear enough to improve a decision or public debate.

Founder

Aidan McAdam

Nodal Economics was founded by Aidan McAdam, bringing together economics and mathematical sciences with experience in operational leadership and systems improvement.

That combination shapes the practice: disciplined about evidence, attentive to how organisations work in reality, and interested in the relationships that determine whether sound ideas become better outcomes.

Principles

How the practice intends to work.

01

See the whole system

Follow the important connections across people, places, institutions and markets.

02

Make rigour visible

Name sources, explain methods and separate evidence from interpretation.

03

Keep judgement honest

State uncertainty, challenge assumptions and avoid confidence the evidence has not earned.

04

Make analysis useful

Connect the work to a real question, choice or public conversation.

Current stage

An independent practice being built in the open.

Nodal is in its development phase. Research, engagements and institutional claims will be published as they become real—never invented to make a young firm appear older than it is.
